YoungShip UAE is a non-profit, non-political organization run on volunteer efforts and a member of the global YoungShip organization. Our goal is to provide a platform for competence and network development and promote young professionals in the UAE's Maritime Cluster.
YoungShip Dubai has been active for over 8 years and has done a lot for the attraction, retention and education of young people in UAE’s Maritime Industry. Our efforts in this field were recognized when YoungShip Dubai received the Next Generation Shipping Award at the Lloyds List Middle East and Indian Sub-Continent Awards in December 2015, as well as the Contribution to the Maritime Cluster award at the Seatrade Awards Ceremony in October 2014.
In 2021 YoungShip Dubai expanded to the rest of the UAE becoming YoungShip UAE and encompassing Abu Dhabi.
YoungShip UAE organizes monthly events for people in the Maritime industry under 40 years of age. YoungShip’s purpose is to provide its members with a platform and opportunity to enhance their knowledge and understanding of the shipping industry through seminars, networking events and outings. In YoungShip we work purely out of our passion for shipping and our motivation is based on our conviction that young people are the most important element to ensure our industry's ongoing growth and success.
By joining YoungShip UAE you are not only accessing 100s of past and present members in all walks of shipping in the UAE, but also our worldwide network of branches. YoungShip UAE has organized on average an event every month since its inception in April 2012 and our efforts have been recognized as we won awards at the Seatrade Middle East Awards in 2014 and Lloyds Maritime Middle East and Indian Subcontinent Awards in 2015. Seatrade Maritime held a networking reception that brought together some leading maritime and logistics professionals, thought leaders, and decision-makers, on a common platform to foster connections, spark insightful discussions, share knowledge, and collaborate on new initiatives to drive the progress of the industry.
The MOU will provide those MDX Dubai students interested in the maritime and logistics industry with opportunities for professional growth, learning and career advancement through engagement with sector experts. The MOU was arranged through Rory McConnon, Campus Programme Coordinator of Middlesex University Dubai’s undergraduate Business and MA International Business Management programmes Last October 19, 2021, and was signed by Dr Cedwyn Fernandes, Pro Vice-Chancellor and Director of Middlesex University Dubai, and Mr Marwan Mubarak, President of YoungShip UAE.
