YoungShip Spain presents two startups at SIL BARCELONA 2019

On June 27 and 28t at SIL BARCELONA, one of the largest logistics events in West Med, YoungShip presented two startups founded by young entrepreneurs from the maritime sector: Keep It Moving and Shellock, two disruptive startups that are changing the way we understand the container industry and logistics.

From the stand of the port of Barcelona, we took advantage of the important event to present YoungShip Spain to top executives of the industry in Spain and gave visibility to young entrepreneurs and their disruptive startups that are changing the way of understanding the container industry and logistics.

These young entrepreneurs were able to enjoy the cocktail organized by the Port of Barcelona, and thus be able to do networking with the main players in the sector.

The two startups presented were:

Shellock: "The new intelligent seal for containers".
Shellock allows you to track, transfer data and set alarms in containers. All in real time.

Keep It Moving: "The very first digital and asset-less container leasing company".
KIM solves the headache of repositioning empty containers and is the first container leasing company without physical assets, fully digital for one-way trips and short periods of time. They could be the Uber of the containers.

"One of the main missions we have in YoungShip is to give visibility to the young talents of the industry, and we can not think of a better way than presenting them all at SIL."

The YoungShip event closed in style with the high quality events that took place throughout the SIL at the Port de Barcelona stand. It was also a unique opportunity for the young people to give way to the traditional cocktail where the entire port community gathered to end the SIL one more year. The Port of Barcelona reaffirms its commitment to young talents and its commitment to the sustainability of the sector, supporting technological and sustainable initiatives, and President Mercè Conesa announced SmartPorts 2019, which will take place during the Smart City Expo World Congress from 19 to 21 November in Barcelona.

The session was full of surprises. Joaquín Guerrero, actor, comedian, professional dancer and director of Team Escénicos animated the session as a facilitator. He never fails to put a smile on everyone's face.

Claudia Faraudo (CEO) and Miguel Ordoñez (CMO) of Shellock presented an intelligent and reusable container seal with GPS locator, real-time opening alarm and remote access to the container. During the pitch, Claudia showed a working prototype of the seal, already emitting a live gps signal.

Eugene Reznikov, co-founder of KeepItMoving, the first fully digital platform, without physical assets, for rental of one-way containers and for a short period of time, presenting itself as the optimal solution for repositioning empty equipment. They are currently developing an algorithm capable of calculating the optimal triangulation for each unit of equipment, giving the possibility of offering an optimal service to the container leasing companies and reducing the empty trips of the containers.
