YoungShip Oslo and the Norwegian Shipowner's Association is organising a seminar on recycling, as we enter into the final phase of a vessel's life cycle.

We are excited to introduce the two speakers who will enlightening us on the subject:

Mats E. Sæther is a lawyer with Nordisk Skibsrederforening, which is a leading FD&D club. He also teaches maritime law at the University of Oslo. He has worked extensively with ship recycling issues, and will give an overview of the history, current practices and developments, and a (very brief) overview of the legal issues.

Gunnar Malm Gamlem is the Environmental Director at Norwegian Shipowner's Association and is responsible for development of the Association’s policies on environmental matters including inter alia emissions to air and sea, marine littering and recycling of ships.

After the seminar, we will continue to network at a nearby bar.
