This is where you find the Norwegian maritime authority with 200 highly competent employees that develop and enforce regulation for all Norwegian registered vessels as well as perform inspections on foreign vessels visiting Norwegian waters. In Haugesund you will also find the Norwegian coastal administration west.
To supplement the maritime environment in Haugesund, it is the only city in Norway together with Oslo that have two different companies that do shipbroking for offshore vessels.
